Welcome! My name is Dave, and I've been a handyman doing home repair, home improvement and house repair work my whole life. I have been doing it professionally and full-time for only the last 20 years or so, but I’ve worked for a general contractor, helped maintain and repair various family members' homes, and restored a house to be sold before that.
I will continue to upload job tutorials to this site for a long time, but this site will already give you most of the general knowledge regarding fixing your house which you can apply for yourself.
Over the years I've learned quite a bit about working with many different materials, which is a big part of knowing how to fix a house effectively. I've also learned a lot of efficient, time-saving tips and tricks that can make doing handyman or homeowner repair projects a lot easier.
What sets this site apart from the rest is understanding that doing DIY home repair is NOT easy. Most other websites seem to be trying to convince you otherwise. It is very true that the "devil is in the details" when doing many repair projects, especially when trying to do an excellent job that you will be proud of.
